The production of solar modules, in particular crystalline module types, is energy-intensive.However, PV modules also generate a great deal of energy during operation.Energetic amortisation can be realised in one to six years depending on application (source: Technische Universität Berlin).

At GeckoLogic we assume that our products will be in operation for at least 35 years (with upward trend). Thus during their lifetime Gecko plants will generate several times the amount of energy that was needed to produce the systems. This calculation includes all manufacturing processes involved.

It can therefore be said that PV plants, even with their sophisticated technology, make a respectable contribution to climate protection. This can be illustrated in the following example: an average-sized solar plant on the roof of a single-family house can save more than 4 tonnes of the climate killer CO₂.
